How we source Dart Charge prices
Every figure on this site comes from one place: the UK Government Dart Charge pages on gov.uk. This page describes the source, the refresh discipline, and what we do not publish.
Source
UK Government Dart Charge pages on gov.uk. All charges, vehicle classifications, free-hours, payment deadlines and Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) figures are taken from gov.uk/pay-dartford-crossing-charge and the directly-linked official guidance pages. That source is authoritative; this site exists to make the figures easier to apply to a specific journey.
We do not aggregate rates from secondary sources. Where National Highways announces a tariff change (most recently the September 2025 increase), the announced change is cited inline on the relevant page until it takes effect, then the rates on the site are updated to match.
Refresh discipline
Site values are re-verified against the official gov.uk pages after each announced tariff change, and on a periodic check otherwise. The current site reflects the September 2025 increase.
Charges can change between our last-verified date and the date you read this. Every pricing page links to the official gov.uk source so you can confirm before crossing; this is the safest verification step.
What we do not publish
- Tariff predictions. Charge forecasts beyond announced National Highways changes are not published; predicting future tariff cycles accurately is not possible from public information.
- Unverified third-party rates. Aggregator sites and forum posts are not used as sources. If a third-party page disagrees with the gov.uk page, the gov.uk page is treated as authoritative.
- Personal travel data. The calculators run entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, log, or store your inputs. Standard analytics (Google Analytics, page-view-level only) are used; no personal data is captured.
Editorial position
This site is operated by Digital Signet, an independent AI-development studio founded by Oliver Wakefield-Smith. We do not sell Dart Charge accounts, do not act as a reseller for any toll-payment service, and do not accept paid placements from National Highways, Conduent, or competing routing services. See /about for the operator and the wider network.
Editorial direction is set by Oliver. Drafts are produced via Digital Signet's autonomous AI development methodology and reviewed against the editorial framework before publication.
